August 30th
Today Kiley officially turns 1! Kiley’s walking!! She can stand up on her own from the ground
without holding onto anything and she can take a few steps! I think the most
she’s taken was maybe 5 and then she sits down. She can get places faster
crawling so she still prefers to do that but when she’s standing she’ll try to
take a few steps before sitting down!! She cruises all over the place, loves pushing all the push toys/strollers etc, and wants to climb on everything! She
loves to go up the stairs and can go down them backwards now but Mommy and Daddy still have to watch her. Kiley likes music and will clap or dance when she hears it and
she loves animals, especially dogs! She’ll yell out ‘da’ everytime! She is a
really quick learner and will learn to do something after just watching or
doing it once! She has learned to play the music on her little musical piano,
she can put all the rings on the stacker, she can turn knobs, push buttons to
make things happen, she can put the balls on the all the activity toys and she
has learned to blow in and out of the little ‘froggy’ toy to make noise! She also can ‘kick’ the balls now and will kick if you hold her and she will
‘pass’ the ball from side to side. She likes to try and put on her own clothes
and shoes although she is far from being successful, but it’s still fun to
watch. She will put things away and give you what she has if you ask her to.
She always looks for me and gets really excited when she sees me. She loves
to ‘race’ up the stairs with me! She also likes to play with Rocky and give
him his toys and play tug a war with him.
Personality: Mommy says Kiley is a little feisty one! She gets super frustrated when she cant’ do
something that she’s trying to do or if she doesn’t get what she wants! She is
also very stubborn and when she wants something she will let you know! She
laughs and smiles more than she used to and likes to play games like peek a
boo. She also gets a bit‘jealous’ when I am with mommy and she wants
to be with her. Overall though mommy says she's a pretty mellow baby and let's me get away with taking over things.
Eating: She loves all the
starches- rice, bread, pasta and she does like meats- chicken, turkey, but her
favorite thing is tofu! She inhales that stuff! She will eat peas and some
squash and she likes some fruits but not all. She drinks really well from
the straw and will drink water quite often through the day! She also likes her
smoothies!
Teeth: she has 4 teeth now!! The top ones came in a couple
of months ago ( I think). The top and bottom are quite crooked so hopefully
they will eventually straighten out. I think part of the reason they are
crooked though is because she grinds her teeth and will kind of hold her mouth
sideways resting her teeth against each other in a crooked position.
It's been a little bit funner now that my little sister is getting older because I can try and play with her, although I don't always like it when she tries to play with me. All the toys are 'mine' right now, I have made it a point that I want to keep it that way! I have been having to learn how to 'share' and be 'patient', both of which are NOT easy for me!
