Kiley turns 11 months old!

July 30th

Kiley is now 11 months old!!! One more month and she’ll be a year old!  Kiley is all over the place!!! She loves to climb things and will climb on anything she can, but she doesn’t know how to climb down!! So she’s either stuck up there, or she tries to get down and will fall! Mommy is always running over to her when she's up on the stairs or the step stool! She is cruising all over the place too! She can move pretty good from side to side and around corners now. She can reach for things holding on with one hand and she can actually stand by herself when she is holding something with two hands! She can ‘walk’ well with two hands being held and she can pull herself from sitting really easily now. She can squat down from the standing position and she can grab things with pincer grip really well! She’s really strong and can lift and carry things and she loves music and will ‘dance’ now when music is beign played! She also can wave bye bye and hi and she ‘kisses’ when you tell her to and she will come if you tell her to come to you. She responds to her name and seems to understand some things when you talk to her, like time to change your clothes or brush your hair or go to sleep! She’ll start to do the action or start the routine when we say those things! 

Kiley is a good eater!! Sometimes I wonder if she’d ever stop eating if we kept feeding her! She just eats and eats and eats!! She’s quite chubby so you can tell she likes to eat! =) She loves tofu and will inhale it! She also seems to like chicken and bananas. She will eat other veggies too though and some fruit. She also loves bread of course!  

Kiley has discovered a shrill scream!!! Mommy is trying to teach her more sign language, but it hasn’t been too successful! She can say ‘ba’ pretty consistently for ball, and ‘ky’ for rocky ( I think), and ma ma or dada and ‘da’ for dog. Those seem to be the most clear words that she says often. She uses the sign ‘more’ for many things unfortunately and occasionally will try to use the ‘hungry’ sign but not very good at it yet! 

Kiley’s second tooth has slowly been making an appearance! Mommy thinks that's why she's been a bit more fussy lately! 

Mommy's bday

July 26-27th

It's Mommy's birthday! I was so excited to sing Mommy 'Happy Birthday!' that I kept singing it all day long to her! We got to go out to eat at the Olive Garden for her birthday. Uncle Dean and Colton joined us ( unfortunately Auntie Nicole couldn't make it). At the end of the meal I wanted to help Mommy blow out the candle on the dessert but she forgot to let me! I let her  know how upset I was ( by crying ) and she was able to have the waiter relight the candle so that I could do it for her. I was much happier after that!

The next day we went to Yountville for breakfast! It was yummy! Mommy had to make sure she saved room for pastries from across the street at Bouchon though! Because after breakfast we headed over there to buy a lot of yummy things!! I helped her pick a strawberry cheesecake danish! YUM! After that Mommy and Daddy visited a few wineries.  There were a lot of things to look at the wineries but my favorite was the koi pond at one of the ones they went to. I think mommy had a nice day/weekend!

Colty's Baptism

July 14th

Today was Colton's baptism! He had a very nice ceremony at the Holy Spirit Church in Fremont and it was nice to be a part of such a special occasion! =) Colty did so well the whole time and looked so handsome in his outfit! There were a lot of people there and it was nice to see Colty's whole family and all the friends! Afterwards they had a really nice reception at a Japanese restaurant but unfortunately we didn't make it because I wasn't feeling well. =(

Jeremy and Garrett

July 13th

Today we went to Auntie Janell's house to see Jeremy and Garrett! Auntie Janell spoiled us with a yummy lunch and then we got to have shaved ice!! It was all so yummy! I had a lot of fun playing with all of Jeremy and Garretts toys! Hopefully I'll get to see them again soon!

Fourth of July in Tahoe

July 4-6th

We went to Tahoe for the 4th of July! We had a fun time up there! I did my very first 'real' hike at Squaw Valley! It was really rocky and I had to climb over and around big rocks and tree roots but I did a pretty good job! We got to see some small water falls, lots of tall trees, lots of doggies ( who were hiking up there too) and some butterflies flying around! We didn't get too far up the hill, but I thought it was far enough. We took a break and had some sandwiches! The way down was a bit more challenging but I figured out how to sit down and slide down on my bottom to get down the rocks! Mommy and Daddy thought I did a really good job and even though I asked to be carried down the hill, I ended up doing the whole thing by myself! Kiley was a good girl the whole time too and didn't complain or fuss about being in the back pack the whole time! I think she actually really liked being in there!

The next day we went to the beach! It was a really nice day there and although the water was a little cold, it wasn't too bad once you got in! It was really nice too because it stayed shallow really far out so it kept the water warmer and there weren't very many waves! This was the first time I actually got brave enough to go INTO the water or actually let the water touch me! I ended up having a lot of fun playing in the water, the sand and building sand castles!! Kiley had fun too although she had to stay on the beach mat most of the time! She did try eating the sand a couple of times and learned that it wasn't too tasty!

Later that day we went to the Rec Center at Northstar! They have a really neat facility with lots of things for kids! We had a lot of fun playing in the pool, on the playyard and in the arcade!

Garrett's 3rd bday!

June 30th

Today we went to the beach to celebrate Garrett's 3rd bday!! It's always so much fun to go to his bday because we get to hang out on the beach, play in the sand and water and eat yummy food! The weather was really nice this year and I had a lot of fun playing with all the kids! There were alot of crabs in the sand this year too, so I had fun trying to collect them and put them in my pail. Kiley seemed to enjoy herself too cuz Mommy and Daddy got a cool 'tent' for her to hang out in. She also went out to the water with Daddy but it was too cold for her to enjoy ( and too cold for me to enjoy either!). I was perfectly happy playing away from all the water! It was a fun birthday party and we all enjoyed seeing everyone! Happy birthday Garrett! ( We left a little early, so Mommy didn't get a good picture of Garrett blowing out his candles or eating his cupcake! )

Kiley is 10 months old!!

June 30th

Kiley is 10 months old already!! I notice that she's getting older because she can move all over the place now! She loves to crawl and follow me everywhere, which can be fun at times but also very annoying! I get mad at her often, but mommy says she just wants to be near me.  She can now pull herself up from sitting, so I've realized that my stuff isn't 'safe' anymore on the ottoman or on my art table! I have to move my stuff higher so that she can't get to it! And now she can 'cruise' side to side so I have to be even quicker at trying to keep my things away from her! Kiley is also going up the stairs a lot! Someone always has to watch her though becuase she doesn't know how to go back down backwards and she's almost fallen a couple of times! I try to help 'teach' her how to go down the stairs backwards but it seems so easy to me so I dont know why she can't do it! Kiley likes to put everything in her mouth! Mommy always tells me that I have to be careful with what I leave on the ground, but it's hard to remember that.  Kiley has definitely eaten her fair share of paper and has also swallowed a hair band, which luckily came back out the other end! I have been helping Mommy and Daddy by telling them when I see her putting something in her mouth so hopefully she won't keep eating things that she shouldn't!

Kiley tries to 'talk' now too! I have fun 'grunting' and making noises that she makes! Mommy and Daddy think it's funny when we are having a 'conversation' of grunting back and forth! She can say a few words like ‘dada’ and ‘mama’ and ‘ba’ for ball and 'da' for any kind of animal.

Kiley has been eating a lot of different foods lately and not as much 'pureed' things, like chicken, cheese, bread, tofu, peaches, strawberries, pears and bananas. I still want everything that Kiley's eating, but I have also realized that I get to eat some better food than her at times!
